Did you know?
Just on the other side of the Red River from Downtown Fargo is the Clay County Family Service Center in Moorhead - where a Minnesota licensed and approved dental therapist practices monthly, increasing access to essential, restorative oral health care.
Recently, Fargo-area media spent an hour at the Center observing the dental therapist at work. Multiple North Dakota outlets covered the success of dental therapy, with stories airing on
WDAY-TV and
Prairie Public radio, as well as being included in the
Fargo Forum and affiliated newspapers. (In the picture to the right, Teresa Bushnell is filling a cavity for Samantha, from Moorhead.)
Go to the
North Dakotans for Dental Access website to learn more about how dental therapy has been around for nearly 100 years, is currently practiced in 50 countries around the world, and has been in the United States for nearly 15 years. This mid-level provider can be a game changer in North Dakota. If authorized they could help improve access to essential dental services that simply aren’t being met under the current policies and structures.
